Garage Door Repair &
Installation in Dallas–Fort Worth
Broken spring, dead opener, door off its track — or time for a brand-new door. Same-day service across DFW, with a free written estimate before any work begins. The price we write is the price you pay.
Why One Local
The honest garage door company DFW was missing.
Garage door repair has a reputation problem — surprise “technician pricing” at the door, scare tactics, and parts you didn't need. We built One Local Garage Door to be the opposite.
-
A written estimate before any work
You see the full price on paper and approve it first. The number we write is the number you pay.
-
An honest recommendation
Repair it, replace it, or leave it alone — we tell you what we'd do in our own home, with the reasons.
-
Same-day, evenings included
Open Sunday through Friday with evening slots — because doors don't break on a schedule.
-
A local family of services
From the team behind One Local Chimney, Ducts, Aluminum & Dryer Vent — one phone number, the same honest process.
The honest-pricing promise
If we find something extra mid-job — like a worn cable behind a panel — we stop, show you, and let you decide. You will never be pressured into work you didn't ask for.

What we do
Every garage door problem. One honest fix.
Repairs, openers and brand-new doors — with a free written estimate before any work, across the whole Dallas–Fort Worth metro.
Spring Replacement
Heard a loud bang? That's a torsion spring — your door is now hundreds of pounds of dead weight. We replace springs safely, usually same day.
Opener Repair & Install
Humming, grinding, or dead? We repair all major brands and install quiet belt-drive openers with battery backup and smartphone control.
Cable Repair
Frayed or snapped cables make a door crooked and dangerous. We replace both cables and re-tension the system so it lifts evenly.
Off-Track & Track Repair
Door jumped the rails or sitting crooked? Don't force it. We put it back on track, straighten bent rails, and fix what caused it.
New Door Installation
Steel, insulated, carriage or modern glass styles — consistently ranked among the highest return-on-investment home upgrades in America, installed with all-new hardware.
Panel & Hail Damage
Backed into the door, or a DFW hailstorm dented it? Often we can replace just the damaged sections — with a written estimate for your insurance claim.
Rollers, Sensors & Remotes
Worn rollers, misaligned safety sensors, dead keypads, lost remotes — the small fixes that make a door quiet, safe and reliable again.
Tune-Up & Safety Check
Lubrication, spring tension, balance test and safety-reverse check. Texas heat is hard on springs — catch a dying one before it strands your car.
Also: weather sealing, smart/myQ programming, strut reinforcement, noisy-door service and commercial overhead doors — just ask when you call.
Broken spring? Door off track?
Don't wrestle a 300-pound door. A real person answers — same-day slots across DFW.

After the storm
Hail-dented garage door? We'll document it properly.
DFW is hail country. Wind and hail damage to a garage door is often covered by homeowners insurance (check your policy and deductible). We inspect the door, tell you honestly how bad the damage actually is, and give you a free written estimate you can hand your insurance adjuster — and if only some panels are hit, we'll say so.
🛡️ Our anti-scam rule: we never offer to “cover your deductible” and we never act as your insurance negotiator — both are illegal in Texas, and anyone who offers is not someone you want working on your home.

Good questions
Everything you'd ask before booking.
I heard a loud bang from the garage — what was that?
Almost certainly a torsion spring snapping — it's the part that does the heavy lifting. Without it the door weighs a few hundred pounds. Don't lift it by hand and don't run the opener; call us and we'll replace it, usually the same day.
My garage door won't open at all. What's wrong?
Usually one of four things: a broken spring, dead remote or keypad batteries, misaligned safety sensors, or a failed opener. We diagnose it on the spot — and you get a written estimate before any work begins.
How much does garage door repair cost?
It depends on the part and your door — that's exactly why the estimate is free and in writing. We look first, then hand you one flat price before we begin. The number we write is the number you pay — no “technician pricing” at the door.
Should I replace one spring or both?
If your door has two springs and one broke, the other has the same mileage and usually fails soon after. Replacing both saves a second service call and keeps the door balanced — but we'll put both options in your written estimate and let you choose.
Should I repair my door or replace it?
A single problem — spring, cable, opener, one dented panel — is usually worth repairing. If you’ve got multiple failing parts, widespread rust, or a 15–20-year-old builder-grade door, replacement is usually the smarter buy — garage door replacement has topped Remodeling magazine’s Cost vs. Value report for return on investment in recent years. We give you an honest written recommendation either way.
Why does my door start to close, then go back up?
That's the safety system doing its job — usually blocked or misaligned photo-eye sensors near the floor, or a closing-force setting that needs adjustment. It's a quick fix for a technician.
Hail dented my garage door. Will insurance cover it?
In Texas, wind and hail damage is often covered — but most policies carry a separate wind/hail deductible, so small dents may fall under it. Photograph the damage, note the storm date, and we'll give you a free written estimate you can submit with your claim. One warning: never work with anyone who offers to “cover your deductible” — that's illegal in Texas.
How long does the work take?
Spring and cable repairs usually take 1–2 hours. An opener install is about 2–4 hours. Most full door replacements are done in half a day — you'll have a working door the same day.
